Adelaide Wedding Transport Guide: Tips for Smooth Guest Transfers
Step 1: Check That Your Venue Is Coach-Friendly
Before booking your wedding, it’s essential to ensure the location is bus or coach friendly. Can your transport actually access the venue or reception site? Many couples discover too late that coaches, or 24 & 13 passenger mini buses cannot safely enter the property, which can result in guests having to walk up a long driveway (in heels!) or the need to arrange a shuttle service, increasing costs due to the use of multiple minibuses.
A venue is considered coach or minibus-friendly if:
Step 2: Select a central pick-up location
Choose a pick-up location that is central and easy for your guests to access. Most couples select a central Adelaide location.
The Adelaide Convention Centre on North Terrace, Adelaide (at the base of the escalators) is ideal due to its close proximity to train, tram, and parking options. The Adelaide Central Bus Station is also popular and a reliable pick-up point. We can pick up in Adelaide Metro Bus Zones but you must make sure that your guests are really to board promptly.
We often receive requests for pick-ups in residential streets. These requests must be reviewed and approved by our operations manager. Before requesting a pick-up, consider: Is the road wide enough? Are cars parked on either side? Can the coach safely enter and exit the surrounding area?
Step 3: Nominate a bus marshal
All wedding bookings require a nominated bus marshal. The marshal boards the bus or coach at the start of the journey to ensure all passengers are accounted for. Once everyone is onboard, they inform the driver when to depart, helping the schedule run smoothly, especially if multiple stops are needed inbound or outbound. This way, the bride and groom can fully enjoy their special day without worrying about receiving a call about transport.
Step 4: Passenger numbers
How many passengers will you need transport for on your wedding day? Will you require multiple vehicles for different groups, such as the groomsmen, bridal party, or family members? Please confirm your passenger numbers 1–2 weeks before your wedding so we can allocate the most suitable vehicle(s).
Step 5: Payment and responsibilitiesNo deposit is required; however, full prepayment is due 10 days prior to travel.
Clients are responsible for any damage, excessive rubbish, or additional costs arising from incidents such as vomiting, spillages, or extended waiting time, particularly where the driver has a subsequent booking. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for full details.
An additional fee of $400 applies if the vehicle is required to remain at high fire risk venues in accordance with hot weather policies.

A venue is considered coach or minibus-friendly if:
- The vehicle can enter the property safely.
- The approach to the venue should be suitable for our vehicles. Check for narrow roads, low tree canopies, unsealed surfaces, or steep slopes that a coach or minibus might struggle to navigate. Do some research on Google Maps to check the terrain, and don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. We have an experienced operations manager and a network of seasoned coach operators we can rely on for advice.
- Gates or entrances are wide enough for entry. Is there is sufficient clearance for larger buses (our largest coaches are approximately 3 metres wide and nearly 14 metres long).
- Once on the property, the coach or mini bus can turn around easily. There should be a turning circle or designated area to stop without risking damage to the venue or surrounding property.
- The drop-off or parking area is close to the venue, allowing guests to disembark safely and conveniently.
